THE SUM OF ALL SMALL POTS

A lot of poker experts affirm that what differentiate an ordinary poker player from a great poker player is that the best one always fights to achieve as many pots as he possible can.

So, while many poker players prefer to quit when they don’t have an extremely good hand, the great players prefer to stick to the game and try to get all the small pots.
In fact, one of the poker legends, Doyle Brunson, wrote in one of his first books that it was the sum of all those small pots what makes the difference, as those small pots all together make the big money.

Therefore, the next time you are playing online poker or offline one; do not forget that it is worth to fight for them.

THE ADVICE OF JP KELLY

In case you don’t know him yet, let me tell you that JP Kelly is a quite well known British poker player, who has become especially popular after having won two WSOP bracelets this summer. He got the first one at the $1.500 Pot Limit Hold’em during Las Vegas WSOP, and the second one shortly after at the WSOPE tournament celebrated in London.

This player has shared some of his best poker tricks in an interview published in the Poker Player magazine. In this interview he commented that one of the strategies that gave him a better result was the ability of changing gears. By that he means that he is able to adapt his poker game depending on the circumstances. That is why sometimes he will take part on every hand and will not stop betting, while in other occasions he will just wait patiently till the right hand.

Without any doubt this is a very good advice that we could put in practice in both the online poker rooms and at the poker tables of the land based casinos. Being able to change gears means that your opponents will never know what to expect for you, so you will always play with an advantage.
